Green Stormwater Infrastructure is primarily intended to mitigate urban flooding and its many detrimental side effects, which impact North Lawndale disproportionally. However, such interventions also produce many co-benefits, or additional advantages, from sustainability actions that enhance overall positive impacts.
As GROWSS and the Lawndale Pop-Up Spot continue to steward three Green Infrastructure Gardens on 16th Street, we wanted to share many of these co-benefits with the community. As you check out our spaces, we hope you not only enjoy but also experience some of the other benefits they offer.
