Join us at the Trash Bash!

Come to the new Starling building at 3243 W. 16th Street this Saturday, November 9, Noon-3:00 p.m. for the first-of-its-kind TRASH BASH! Sponsored by Litter-Free Lawndale (a project of the NLCCC GROWSS Committee and the North Lawndale Homeowners Association), the Trash Bash will be an opportunity to celebrate our work this year, make plans for a cleaner 2025, enjoy refreshments and crafts, and toast some North Lawndalians who have made a difference! That day is also the GRAND OPENING of Monday Coffee, a Black-owned cafe and roaster located at Starling! That event is also free and open to the public, from 7am-7pm. You can RSVP here.

Earth Day Clean-Ups on April 26

Join your neighbors this Earth Day and sign up to volunteer for a park cleanup! Volunteers will be provided bags and gloves.* *While supplies last. The GROWSS Committee is particularly focused on the annual Douglass Park Clean-Up ! ReCovered tree walk to Betty Swan Arboretum

ReCovered: Chicago's Urban Tree Canopy TREE WALK along Douglas & Independence Blvds to Betty Swan Arboretum Take a walk with Trinity Pierce, a tree expert from Morton Arboretum, along beautiful Douglas and Independence Boulevards. The walk will cover about 1.5 miles - wear comfortable shoes! Wednesday, April 23 4:00 - 6:00 PM Meet at Lawndale Pop-Up Spot, 3601 W. Douglas Blvd. AND VISIT THE "RECOVERED" EXHIBIT WHILE YOU ARE THERE! The exhibit closes for good on Saturday, April 26! Lawndale Pop-Up Spot hours of operation: Wed-Fri 2-6pm Sat 12 - 4pm
