Applications open for the NLCCC Youth Council!

The NLCCC GROWSS Youth Council is a collaboration between Lincoln Park Zoo and various North Lawndale organizations and stakeholders. The purpose of the youth council is to create confident leaders who build relationships with each other, their neighbors, and nature, in order to create a healthier and more vibrant community.

This spring and summer, youth council members will work on projects designed to connect people to nature through social media, attend community engagement opportunities, and more.

The youth council is open to anyone ages 16–22. This application is for both the spring and summer sessions of the youth council; accepted applicants must commit for the entire duration of the program (April 27–August 1).

• Spring session
- Begins April 27 and runs until June 3
- Meets every Saturday in-person and every other Thursday virtually (three hours each week)

• There is a three-week break between June 3 and June 25

• Program will resume for the summer session on June 26 - August 1. Meets in-person four days a week, three hours a day (typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)

Accepted applicants can earn up to $1,140 for the duration of the spring and summer sessions. Additionally, accepted applicants have the option to apply for the fall session of the youth council, a six- week session that includes one three-hour meeting each week, for an additional $288.

If you have questions, please contact Jaeda Branch, Community Programs Coordinator, at jbranch@lpzoo.org.
